Baby Sensory Play

Baby: 6-12m

This stage of your baby’s life is an exciting one! They are now eating solids, sitting up on their own and some may even be beginning to crawl around or take their first steps.  So much is happening in their bodies and brains and moms are often starting to feel a little bit more like themselves again.  Join us as we continue our journey of supporting development and play of your little ones.

You make the mess, we clean up! Come and join us for this taste-safe baby sensory play series using non-toxic materials appropriate for 6-12m olds.  We’ll highlight how to recreate engaging activities that you can easily do at home using household and easy to access items with your final week including a make and take sensory play item that you can continue to enjoy at home with your baby.

Throughout the class, you’ll have the opportunity for conversation and connection with other Mama’s & caregivers at the same stage as you.

PLEASE NOTE: Once a program date is full, it will no longer show as an option to register on our booking system.  Please contact us to be added to our wait list.

Allison Allin, owner of Serenity Birth Studio

Hi I’m Allison, Mama of 2 girls and owner of Serenity Birth Studio & Babyshop.  I have a passion for connecting with expecting, new and seasoned parents in our Community and can’t wait to engage with your and your little ones in our interactive sensory play series!

I love highlighting ways to engage with your infant as they develop during the 6-12m stage – from the use of everyday materials, to some fun & messy ones too, storytelling, songs, movement and more.

Outside of Serenity Birth Studio, I’m an active volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada leading the Sparks level (5-6 year olds), Mama to rescue dogs and spending time in nature.

Sarah Downey (she/her) is a Postpartum Doula and mom of three. She has a degree from University of Toronto and diploma from Sheridan College and doula training from DONA.  On top of being part of the Serenity Birth Studio teaching team, Sarah also is a professor at Georgian College in the ECE department with experience working in child care and co-founding a cloth diaper brand.
