Car Seat Installation Support

Elaine is a certified car seat technician (CPST) who became interested in child passenger safety after her daughter was born in 2012. Trained and certified by the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC) since 2014, she has become a passionate advocate for the proper use and installation of child restraints for all ages and stages.

Her experience includes educating across various social media platforms, consulting with parents through email and private in-person appointments, as well as working in the retail baby gear industry.

Whether you are a new or experienced parent, there is plenty to know about car seat safety! When you book an appointment with a certified car seat technician (CPST), you will get peace of mind knowing that your installation is secure and your child is properly restrained.

The CPST will thoroughly inspect your car seat installation and teach you the right techniques to fix any errors. You will also learn how to use the car seat correctly, ensure your child is properly fitted and discuss a variety of safety topics and best practice recommendations.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:

In order to help facilitate your appointment and enhance your learning experience, please:

  • read the car seat manual in full and install the car seat to the best of your ability

  • ensure the interior of your vehicle is clean & free of excess clutter.

Appointment Duration: 

  • 1 hour 

Appointment Cost: 

  • $30 for one car seat/vehicle. For infant seats, please add $10 to inspect the installation of an extra base in a 2nd vehicle in the same appointment. 

  • If you have a convertible car seat in 2 different vehicles, a separate appointment is required for each. First car seat/vehicle is $30, second car seat/vehicle is $20. 

  • $20 for repeat clients upgrading from one car seat to another (ie: infant to convertible seat or transitioning from rear-facing to forward-facing). One car seat/vehicle per appointment only.

Payment can be made by e-transfer or cash at the end of the appointment.

***Note: 3+ car seats require a private appointment – please reach out to the CPST directly at cpst.elaine@gmail.com to set up a date and time to meet.

Due to the nature of this service, part of the appointment is conducted outdoors – take care to dress appropriately for the season for your comfort and safety. Please contact Serenity Birth Studio and/or the CPST if you are unsure if the appointment will proceed due to extreme weather conditions, or if you wish to reschedule regardless

Appointment Cancellation & Late Arrival

Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment so that other clients may be accommodated. We kindly request that you reschedule your appointment if you will be more than 15 minutes late so as not to disrupt the flow of appointments that may be scheduled immediately following.
